PREMIUM, SURFACE VOIDS-REDUCTION SILICONE COPOLYMER
Because it can help impart improved compression strength and dimensional stability while maintaining fine cells, Niax silicone L-6635 additive is an excellent candidate to consider for use in rigid polyurethane foams manufactured with a continuous lamination process. A premium silicone copolymer, Niax silicone L-6635 additive may also be considered for fixed-gap lamination and gastight facings, or other products that require the reduction of surface and subsurface voids.
Its ability to minimize voids stems from reduced cell coalescence during foam flow and under high shear-stress conditions. As a result, compression strength and dimensional stability may be improved as well as maintaining fine cells and reducing foam anisotropy, making it a choice to consider for the block and discontinuous process.
Niax silicone L-6635 additive can offer excellent foam-surface quality in sandwich panels produced by continuous lamination, pentane blown and with both polyurethane and polyisocyanurate chemistry. It also may be an excellent performer when n-pentane is the blowing agent, particularly with high use levels. It may also be considered for use as a surfactant, typically offering good foam stability and blowing-agent compatibility in rigid foam applications.
