Higher Yield, Stability and Strength for Polyisocyanurate Rigid Foam
An excellent candidate to consider for manufacturing polyisocyanurate rigid foam, Niax catalyst K-Zero G additive may be used in formulated systems or by direct metering. As an option to replace commonly used potassium octoate catalysts, Niax catalyst K-Zero G additive contains no glycol, so it typically consumes less isocyanate while maintaining the concentration of active potassium salt, potentially resulting in higher productivity. Niax catalyst K-Zero G additive also can improve the foam isotropy for more dimensional stability and compressive strength.
Niax catalyst K-Zero G additive offers several advantages compared to other potassium octoate catalysts. In addition to minimizing the amount of isocyanate consumed, Niax catalyst K-Zero G additive also has a lower viscosity than typical potassium octoate in DEG, which can improve both pumping and handling.
Niax catalyst K-Zero G additive has no odor and is not classified as flammable. This unique catalyst also offers better formulation flexibility with its ability to raise the NCO index at a constant isocyanate-to-polyol rate.
Niax catalyst K-Zero G additive typically requires the same dosage level as the commonly used potassium octoates it may replace. In addition, its water content is essentially identical to the typical potassium octoates, so MDI consumption is not significant.
