REDUCED DENSITY, LOW VOC EMISSIONS
A lower-VOC version of Momentive's Niax silicone L-5614, Niax silicone L-5617 is typically added to formulations used in the mechanically frothed foam process. Able to stabilize mechanically frothed foams and allow the incorporation of solid fillers, Niax silicone L-5617 is an excellent candidate to consider in the production of foams for the medical industry, textiles and nonwovens, and consumer goods.
A silicone surfactant with the hydrolyzable stability found in Momentive's Niax silicone L-5614, Niax silicone L-5617 may be an ideal choice for applications that call for low VOC emissions.
Niax silicone L-5617's ability to stabilize mechanically frothed foams makes shear-induced cell collapse less likely. At the same time, it can provide cell opening and reduce froth density for high-quality product applications. These features make Niax silicone L-5617 an excellent additive where lower VOC emissions are important.
