EXTENDED POUR TIME, INCREASED OPEN FOAM
Flexible and efficient, Niax catalyst A-400 features a unique delayed blow reaction in the production of molded polyurethane foams, like automotive seating. The liquid, water-soluble tertiary amine agent helps enable the extended foam pour times needed to produce complex parts and more open foam.
Along with Niax catalyst A-300, Niax catalyst A-400 belongs to a class of catalysts that can significantly enhance the performance and production of a wide variety of molded polyurethane foams, including those for automotive seating. Typically producing more open foam than many similar delayed-action blow catalysts on the market, Niax catalyst A-400 can enable a substantial reduction in force-to-crush values - 48% to 59% in firmer cushion formulations and 64% in softer formulations. Without sacrificing stability or green strength, foams made with this catalytic agent typically can be of superior quality.
Similar to the reaction profile of Niax* catalyst A-107 and used in combination with a gelling catalyst like Niax catalyst A-33 or Niax catalyst A-300, Niax catalyst A-400 facilitates a blow reaction that can be beneficial for high reactivity systems. The agent can be significantly less corrosive to mild steel.
It generally can be used as a separate stream or blended with water or polyol for metering to the mixing head of the machine.
