Niax Silicone L-850 is a low-emission, medium-potency, organosilicone surfactant for use in flexible slabstock foam applications that require the use of flame retardants.

The use of this surfactant may minimize the amount of flame retardant required to pass combustibility tests and may help improve flame lamination properties.

The typical range of FR reduction is 10 to 30% less than presently required using existing “FR” silicone surfactants, like Niax Silicone L-820, Niax Silicone L-818, and Niax Silicone L-835.

The potential for great FR savings exists when using Niax Silicone L-850. This product can be used in conventional foam manufacturing processes, as well as in those that use CO₂ as auxiliary blowing agent. Niax Silicone L-850 provides excellent froth formation and stability (as required for “CO₂ processes”) to make soft and low-density foam grades.
