HEAT RESISTANCE, EXCEPTIONAL DURABILITY
Our RTV157 and RTV159 silicone rubber adhesive sealants are principally used by customers in the aerospace and aviation industries to secure and maintain the integrity of airframes and cabins. As one of the strongest high-temperature silicone sealants available, these one-component, ready-to-use, silicone rubber adhesives can provide the performance these industries require.
RTV157 and RTV159 silicone adhesive sealants have a paste consistency that can typically be applied to horizontal, vertical and overhead surfaces. They offer a reliable seal for applications requiring high strength and temperature performance. These adhesive sealants release acetic acid vapors as a byproduct of their cure. Review the technical documents and Key Features and Typical Benefits sections to see how our high-strength RTV157 and RTV159 sealants can benefit your project.
RTV157 and RTV159 silicone adhesive sealants are acetoxy room-temperature-curing, one-component adhesives. They are generally ready to use and exhibit extremely high strength and heat resistance. RTV157 and RTV159 typically cure to tough, resilient silicone rubber on exposure to atmospheric moisture at room temperature, and are known for their high-temperature performance.
While our RTV157 and RTV159 sealants are generally to serve in a broad range of industrial applications, they are more commonly used for aviation applications, such as bonding the light housing on the outside of airplanes. These high-temperature silicone adhesives have the capability to withstand high heat from aerospace lighting. They can also provide the high-strength seals to necessary to survive the wind shear on the outside of a plane.
Where section depths exceed 6 mm (1/4 in.), Momentive's one-component addition cure or two-component silicone rubber compounds are recommended. Additionally, these grades offer excellent electrical insulation properties, low temperature flexibility, and outstanding weatherability, as well as ozone and chemical resistance.
