ENHANCED CLEARCOAT APPEARANCE, RECOATABILITY

By offering improved flow and leveling characteristics, even at low doses, CoatOSil 7001E (available in the United States as CoatOSil 7001), a silicone-polyether block copolymer, can enhance the appearance of solvent-borne coatings, especially two-component acrylic-polyol isocyanate cured coatings. The addition of CoatOSil 7001E Copolymer Sealant can improve the final cured coating’s distinctness of image (DOI), film clarity and film coalescence, and can also readily accommodate recoating.

CoatOSil 7001E Copolymer Sealant has been found to be effective at incorporation levels as low as 0.05 to 0.10 wt% when added to the polyol resin portion of a two-component polyisocyanate cured acrylic polyol clearcoat formulation.

CoatOSil 7001E Copolymer Sealant is an excellent candidate as a flow and leveling additive to acrylic-polyol resin monocoat and clearcoat formulations.
