Momentive Opens New European Application Development Centre for Personal Care in the United Kingdom

Niskayuna, New York - [October 2^nd, 2024] - Momentive Performance Materials group (Momentive), a global high-performance silicones and specialty solutions company, is celebrating the opening of the new European Application Development Centre for Beauty and Personal Care, located in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. The modern, 300 square meters facility encompasses the Haircare Centre of Excellence and the Application Development Team for the region.

At the Haircare Centre of Excellence, our team is focused on carrying out performance tests supporting the development of innovative new raw materials for use in shampoos, conditioners, and leave on formulations. New state of the art labs and equipment allow for a wide range of testing capabilities to monitor performance including combability, heat protection, frizz-reduction, and shine. This recent investment extends Momentive’s capabilities to evaluate hair strength, movement, and fiber alignment. A salon is also available for real-time evaluation of formulations on human volunteers or mannequin heads.

Momentive is well known for its range of performance additives for beauty and personal care including high performance, smart silicones and the new naturally derived Harmonie^TM portfolio.

The European Application Development Centre provides a base for the Application Development Team. This team of experienced formulation chemists works closely with Momentive’s distributors and customers in the understanding and use of the company’s range of personal care ingredients and the development of unique formulations meeting the demands of the European personal care market.

The Centre was opened by VP Nalian, President and General Manager, Performance Additives, at a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Mayor of Abingdon, Gabby Barody, and a small group representing customers and distribution partners on September 10^th.
