Google Analytics and Cookies
On this Site, we use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called cookies which are small text files that are stored on your computer and make it possible, among other things, to analyse the way in which you use our Site. As a rule, the information generated by cookies is transferred to and stored on a server in the US that is operated by Google. Google will use this information on our behalf in order to evaluate your use of our Site, compile reports regarding website activities and provide services for us relating to website and internet usage. These reports and services are used to make continuous improvements to the facilities offered by this Site.
You can prevent the storage of cookies by making an appropriate setting in your browser. Please note that, if you do this, you will be unable to use all the functionalities of this Site to their full extent. You can also prevent the acquisition and processing of data relating to your use of this Site (incl. your IP address) and generated by cookies by Google by simply downloading and installing the following Google browser plug-in by clicking the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en. Similar plug-ins are available from other providers depending on the particular browser you use.
In view of the debate regarding the use of analytics tools with full IP addresses, this Site uses Google Analytics with the "anonymizeIp()" function, which ensures that IP addresses are processed in truncated form only and prevents them from being traced to a specific user. In states that form part of the European Economic Area, Google will therefore truncate your IP address before transfer to its server. Full IP addresses will be sent to a Google server in the US to be truncated there only in exceptional cases. The IP address sent from your browser when using Google Analytics is not combined with any other Google data.
To ensure a good user experience, our Site also uses system cookies that contain a unique number, your 'session ID', which allows our server to recognize your computer and 'remember' what you've done on the Site. The benefits of these are:
- You only need to log in once if you're navigating secure areas of the Site
- You are able to use interactive elements of the Site, such as forms
- Our server can distinguish between your computer and other users, so you can see the information that you have requested.
When you close your browser the cookie will be deleted and the Site will 'forget' your session.
The following table gives details of the different types of cookies that might be used during a session.
