CoatOSil* MP 200 Silane

Lower VOC Emissions, Useful in Water and Solvent-Borne Applications

Can significantly help reduce methanol emissions, as compared to monomeric epoxy silanes, CoatOSil MP 200 silane has inherent properties for both solvent-borne and water-borne systems. It promotes adhesion through its ability to react with various organic functionalities, and bonds well to inorganic substrates. Systems to consider for CoatOSil MP 200 silane include: polysulfide, urethane, epoxy and acrylic caulks, sealants, adhesives and coatings.

More About CoatOSil* MP 200 Silane

CoatOSil MP 200 silane promotes adhesion in a broad range of applications via multiple epoxy and silane groups on each oligomer chain.  Its gamma-gylcidoxy propyl epoxide ring reacts with many organic groups while its alkoxy silane groups promote adhesion to inorganic substrates.  Condensation of its silanol groups can also provide crosslinks between polymer chains.

As a 100 percent active material, CoatOSil MP 200 silane can be used at relatively low levels in water-based, solvent-borne or high-solids systems.

The addition of CoatOSil MP 200 silane can facilitate the development of formulations with:

  • Improved wet and dry adhesion
  • Good storage stability
  • Improved corrosion resistance and enhanced mechanical properties of coatings, adhesives and sealants
  • Lower VOC levels than typical monomeric silanes
