The classification of plastics and ascertaining temperature indices comprise one of the most important elements of our material testing. For many years, our products have been supervised and tested in accordance with Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL).
Quarterly samples are taken from the current program by a UL-commissioned tester. We then receive printouts of test results for the samples examined in the USA. In conformance with fire testing guidelines, this procedure makes it easy for the consumer to choose our decidedly practical Bakelite™ moulding compounds. Following this practice, the requisite approval tests for mouldings and moulding compounds are simplified and, in the context of quality assurance, offer the advantages of supervision by an internationally recognized testing body.
A large number of Momentive’s moulding compounds are classified in accordance with UL guidelines.
