Mold and mildew resistant building materials are a growing trend in the construction industry. Momentive has answered the call with non-silicone wax emulsions capable of providing mold resistance to the board core without excess dryer buildup.
Momentive's mildew resistant wax emulsions are added directly to the gypsum slurry through the board line mixer. By design, typical wax emulsion usage rates will allow the finished board to pass mold growth requirements of ASTM D 3273 while meeting the absorption requirements of ASTM C 1396.
